Just remember, where two or more classmates are gathered, we have a mini-reunion. So when you get together with classmates, send along a photo or two to the Web Guy and share the joy with the rest of us!
At Shellie (Wallace) and Frank Duncan's, Bartow, Annual Christmas Party
At Bob and Janet Hill's, Burnsville, NC, October 2016
At Burnham and Lois Lott's, Highlands, NC, July 2016
At Chet & Betty Ann Collin's, Bell, FL, April 25, 2016
Here's a wonderful extension of the 60th reunion.
On their way home from the Bartow affair Charlene (Cronier) and Ike Powell stopped by for a visit with Chet Collins and his wife Betty Ann. They had a great time catching our class president up to speed on all of the stories and tales from the Bartow reunion, who was there, what happened, etc. Chet was thrilled that it went so well and conveys his thanks to all who worked so hard to make it happen.
Chet and Betty Ann are doing fine and regret not being able to make it to Bartow. They do hope to get up to their cabin in North Carolina for the summer, but those plans are not yet finalized.
At Jimmy & Edna Huggart's, Franklin, NC, May 1-2, 2016
A few days after the 60th reunion weekend was over, Dave and Dru Cowles headed north to North Carolina, eventually winding up in Franklin, NC, where they had a mini-reunion with Jimmy and Edna Huggart. Jimmy and Edna were unable to make the trek down to the reunion in Bartow, so it was a special treat for them to get together, thus by extension including more in the grander reunion process.
Jimmy and Edna live a few miles north of Franklin and have a gorgeous view of a valley shown in the photos taken from their deck. On the right: l-r Jimmy, Edna, Dru & Dave. Below: Edna & Jimmy.
They had not seen each other since 2008 so they had a great time catching up and sharing the happenings at the Bartow reunion. Plus, Jimmy and Dave spent time once again reminiscing about their times together at Summerlin. The Huggart's grandson Dillon kept them served well (yes, he is of age), and as the Scotch flowed, the stories got better and better.
A great meal from Edna's kitchen topped the evening. The next morning after a robust NC breakfast, Dru and Dave headed back to San Diego.
A short, but very enjoyable visit, demonstrating that even though separated by miles and time, good friendships last forever.
