Announcement and Invitation from Bob Hill and the Reunion Committee:

Summerlin Institute

Class of 1956

60th Reunion

Dear Classmates:

The plans for the 60th year reunion are really coming together now. The location, meals, planned entertainment (I feel sure there will be some entertaining moments that aren’t planned) are pretty well set. We’ve got most details outlined and the committee is having more fun than should be allowed just talking about the whole shebang.

Enclosed you will find the registration form and information sheet about what we would like to have as soon as possible so we can get everyone’s updated information in the program book. Even if you are unable to attend the reunion, PLEASE fill out the info sheets so we can keep up with you and send info to you. We are asking that these sheets be returned as soon as possible, but the registration fees don’t have to be in until later.

As I previously told you (If I had the right address then), Friday evening will be a sit down dinner (Prime Rib and Chicken Cordon Bleu) buffet at the Civic Center, to be followed by entertainment and dancing to 50’s and 60’s music by Al Holland who sang with the Platters. You may invite two guests who are not classmates to join you for the dinner. The dinner is $25 per person. After dinner, you may have other guests to join us for the dancing and entertainment for free (That’s a bargain!!!)

Saturday morning we’ll have a buffet brunch at the high school cafeteria, as well as a class meeting.

Mid afternoon we’ll join up at High Gait Farm, Ken and Bonnie Allen’s great place (Same location as the Saturday afternoon party at the 55th reunion where Elvis made a surprise visit!) We’ll be barbecuing a hog and having all the trimmings. This gathering will be reminiscent of the “Barn Frolics” from 1956. Bring your overhauls, plaid shirts and Hee Haw hats to liven up the fun. We’ll go into the evening with a bonfire and s’mores before we say goodnight.

I promise the committee is putting all the emphasis for this reunion on memories and FUN! We all look forward to your being with us for the weekend. If you can’t make the whole weekend, just come when you can.

With warmest regards,

Bob Hill
